Brenda Reeber, RN, M.Ed, CRRN — Medical Case Manager (Ludington and Western Michigan Coastline) — The highlight of my nursing career of 40 plus years has been the opportunity to work as a Medical Case Manager for Newton Consulting, Inc, since moving to Ludington 10 years ago to enjoy ‘semi-retirement.’ Case management has challenged me to utilize the experience and skills I had developed over the years, particularly the rehabilitation nursing skills honed during 5 years as a primary nurse at the Rehabilitation Institute of Detroit and in the 10 additional years as a case coordinator in the Cognitive Retraining Program of Beaumont Hospital. Case Management has provided the stimulation and professional satisfaction I still seek in my ‘semi-retirement’ but the flexibile hours have also allowed me time to do volunteer work at the local Women’s Shelter, belong to two book clubs, X-Country Ski in the winter and swim in Lake Michigan in the summer.
